Pairing and approvals

Decide who is allowed to talk to your agent.

An agent on a public messaging service can be messaged by anyone who finds it. Pairing is the gate that stops strangers using it.

How it works

1Someone new messages your agent.
2Instead of answering, the agent sends them a short code.
3Their request appears on the Pairing page.
4You approve or reject it. Approved people can talk to the agent from then on.

The alternative is to allowlist specific user IDs when you set the channel up, which is stricter but means knowing those IDs in advance. Pairing is easier: leave the allowlist blank and approve people as they show up.
