The words this documentation uses, in plain terms.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Agent | The AI that lives on your device, with a name, memory, and the ability to act. |
| Model / provider | The intelligence the agent thinks with, and the company supplying it. |
| Session | One conversation, saved and resumable. |
| Skill | Written instructions teaching the agent to do a specific job well. |
| Tool / toolset | An action the agent can take, such as running a command or browsing. |
| Channel | A messaging service connected to your agent. |
| Gateway | The agent runtime — the part that thinks, runs tools, and talks to channels. It is what the power menu starts, restarts, and shuts down. |
| MCP server | An outside service exposing tools through a standard protocol. |
| Profile | A separate agent on the same device, with its own data. |
| Pairing | Approving a person before they may talk to your agent. |
