Expansion
Plug in a graphics card.
Pro, Max and Ultra have a port on the back that connects a full-size desktop graphics card in an external enclosure. It carries PCIe lanes directly, so the card runs at close to the speed it would inside a tower — not throttled the way a USB adapter would be.
The port is Oculink. Graphics card and enclosure are bought separately, and you can add one later.
Start without one
Out of the box the device runs small and mid-sized models on its own silicon. Plenty for an assistant that works all day.
Add a card when you need it
Connect an enclosure with the card you want. Nothing to reconfigure — the OS finds it and starts using it.
Bigger models, still yours
With a card attached, models that would not fit in memory run locally instead of going to the cloud. Your data never leaves the room.
Local inference
Managed by the OS.
Local compute is only useful if something decides what to run where. Activated Cloud OS picks the model and the route for each task: on the device when latency or privacy matters, on your graphics card when the model is larger, and out to the cloud when a task needs a frontier model or heavy parallelism. You don’t configure this. It just works.
